(More customer reviews)I've been using this product for slightly more than a year on my 1991 Sportster.
Instructions are to initially clean the chain with a degreaser so the wax can adhere to dry metal. I did this with the chain on the motorcycle, rolling the wheel to expose the entire chain. I then took the motorcycle for a short ride to dry the chain and warm it up slightly. Next, while the chain was still warm, I sprayed the chain wax liberally on the inner surfaces of the rollers and side plates, once again rolling the wheel so that the entire chain was lubed. I then let the wax dry for a half-hour or so.
When I took the motorcycle out for a ride, I noticed that the chain was running quietly, not necessarily more quietly than it would with grease or oil, but at least as much so. When I parked, the rear wheel was clean, with no oil spots on the rim (or my clothing, or the rest of the motorcycle), apparantly the wax sticks to the chain much better than any grease or oil I've ever used. The wax dries to a transparent film, so the chain looks dry, even though it is coated with the wax. Additionally, the chain does not seemto attract or hold abrasive dirt. I reapply wax every few weeks or so, when I think about it, just spraying a new coat onto the existing wax, usually when I return home from work after the chain has been run on the freeway for a few miles. I've found that chain adjustments are not required for many hundreds of miles.
I've tried many different chain lubes since I began riding in 1968. I highly recommend this product. It meets or exceeds all my expectations.
